MOLOKAI, Hawaii
March 2023
This retreat is designed as an inquisitive reset in a land of ancient wisdom and a people who remain Autonomous from globalization. The People of the island of Molokai have chosen sovereignty; having no buildings taller than a palm tree, no resorts, no big commercial anything, all local, small businesses, and a lot left to the wild.
We will be coming together with growth, openness & reflection in mind. Eating local food to nourish, having long morning practice to get deeply embodied, a solid part of our day to either adventure together or spend some time in solitude, listening with our bodymind to the Mana of the island.
Monday : R E Y N Yoga + Welcome
Tuesday: R E Y N Yoga + Halawa Valley + ATTAWA
Wednesday: R E Y N Yoga + Kalaupapa Hike + ATTAWA
Thursday: R E Y N Yoga + Free Dive + ATTAWA
Friday: R E Y N Yoga + Whale Excursion + ATTAWA
We will spend time with locals, who have lived on this island all their lives. In the photograph to the right is Greg Pilipo, son of Anakala Pilipo, who are decedents of Hawaiians of the Halawa Valley going back 150+ generations (that’s 4500 years back). Demian and I had the privilege of spending time with Greg and his father 6 years ago, and the wisdom imparted upon us resonates with me to this day.
We will also be holding ATTAWA gatherings, which are in person experiences of sharing and being with each other. The immense healing and magic that comes of this is extraordinary.
As always on retreat, we are all sovereign beings ~ if there are practices you’d like to skip or adventures that just feel too much, we are free to r e l a x and do our own thing. Giving ourselves permission to explore our planet and relax is a Divine gift ~ one that many of us do not take often, or even at all.
On that note, if you plan to do some of your own adventuring, renting a car is a wonderful idea.
Also over the next two weeks we will be deciding whether to bring on board a dear friend of mine, a Waldorf Teacher, to come to give our young children an experience of their own, while the adults are in movement practice and ATTAWA. She will also join us on our excursions to help with the children. So if you are wanting to come and bring your children, please let us know. Children of all ages are welcome : )
